Below is a list of possible activities for 2026; please check this page regularly as it will be continually updated as more events are planned/confirmed.

January – June:
- Annual General Meeting – January 19, 2026, AHEIA Calgary office, CFGA members are required to RSVP.
- Art of Tallow Workshop –
January 17, 2026(CANCELLED – TO BE RESCHEDULED), join us for a fun, informative, and hands-on session where you’ll not only learn all about tallow – you will learn how to make it using simple household tools! - Big Game Measuring Day & Shed Hunt Scoring – 6 to 9 pm, January 30, 2026: Calgary Horseshoe Club, with Sarcee F&G.
- Women’s Outdoor Club: Cross-Country Ski Day– 11 am, January 31, 2026: Ribbon Creek Trail System, Terrace Link, Kovach Trail, Kananaskis. Join us for a scenic cross-country ski adventure.
- ODFGA Family Day – Kids Can Catch Ice Fishing Event, Chain Lakes Provincial Park – February 14, 2026, 10 am to 2 pm: A family event! Volunteers will be on-hand to help teach new anglers the proper ways to bait a hook, where to drop a line, and what to do once a fish has been caught.
- Calgary Boat & Outdoor Show – February 20-22, 2026, Calgary BMO: booth (archery on-site) and the Kids’ Trout fishing Pond. CFGA members click the link to sign up to volunteer at the booth or fishing pond!
- AWF Conference – February 19-22, 2026
- Women’s Outdoor Club: Social Night – 6:30 to 9:00 pm, February 25, 2026, Lennox Irish Pub: Join us for a relaxed evening to connect, chat, and get excited about what’s coming up with the Women’s Outdoor Club!

- CFGA Archery Night, Archery World – March 10, 2026, 6:00 to 8:00 pm: join CFGA for a fun-filled family evening of Archery with other members!
- AACCA Easter Arms Show, Seven Chiefs Sportsplex & Chief Jim Starlight Center – April 4-5, 2026: booth, volunteers promote and sell CFGA. memberships, banquet tickets and raffle tickets.
- Wild Game Dinner, Triwood Community Center – April 25, 2026: welcome cocktail party & appetizers, amazing wild game dishes, refreshments, auctions, raffles and awards presentations.
- McKinnon Flats Spring Cleanup and Barbeque – May 2026: CFGA has developed a McKinnon Flats Stewardship Partnership agreement with Alberta Environment and Parks (‘AEP’). The spring event will consist of a clean-up of the area and a BBQ! Children welcome!
- CFGA Archery Night, Archery World – May 26, 2026, 6:00 to 8:00 pm: join CFGA for a fun-filled family evening of Archery with other members!
- Summer Fishing Day – June 6-7, 2026
- Alford Lake Family Camp & Jamboree – June 13-14, 2026: a great weekend of family fun! Camping (tents or trailers) or cabins, archery, shooting (.22, centerfire & shotgun), fishing, campfires, BBQ.

July – December:
- “Meet the Pheasants” – July 2026: join with members of the Pheasant Committee to have your family tour the pheasant-raising facility and walk amongst the birds.
- CFGA Archery Night, Archery World – July 2026, 6:00 to 8:00 pm: join CFGA for a fun-filled family evening of Archery with other members!
- Women’s Outdoor Club: Edible Plant Walk and Cook-out – July 25, 2026: Join CFGA’s Women’s Outdoor Club for an exciting Summer Edible Plant Walk where you will be introduced to over a dozen edible, native plants, and non-native plant species and learn the basics of plant identification through smell, touch, taste, and plant growth patterns.
- Women’s Outdoor Club: AHEIA Outdoor Program – August 2026: This program is not only educational but is an excellent way for women to come together and enjoy each other’s company at AHEIA’s beautiful Alford Lake facility. The days at OWP are jam packed with courses – from fly fishing to archery, quadding, firearms basics to field dressing.
- Women’s Outdoor Club Ladies Learn to Shoot – August 2026
- Hunter “Sight-in” Day – August 15, 2026: CFGA will once again be partnering with the Rosebud Silhouette & Benchrest Club (RSBC) to host a public rifle shoot and sight-in prior to the beginning of hunting season. There are 75 spots available for shooters – CFGA Members, friends (non-members), public, as well as RSBC Members and friends (non-members) are welcome to attend!
- CFGA Summer Camp – August 28-29, 2026: RV or tent camping weekend of outdoor family fun events!

- Wilderness Identification and Navigation Workshop – September 2026
- Trap Shooting Day – September 2026
- Pheasant Collection & Release Day – October 2026: click here for location: join us to round up the pheasants, crate them up and take them to various sites to be released into the wild.
